Ulverston Lantern Festival Looking for Volunteer Stewards

It's finally September, and that means the Lantern Festival is just a few short weeks away! If you haven't picked up your lantern kit yet, they're available at Appleseeds, The Cumbria Way, Market Hall, Croftlands and the Coro for £6 each (or £5 if you don't need/want the candles).

Meanwhile, festival organisers are looking for volunteer stewards to help out on the evening. The festival is 20th September, and leaves from three separate points around town to converge in town centre and continue on into Ford Park.

75 Stewards need to be on hand from all points, ready to keep everyone together, avoid gaps, supervise safety, and help out where needed. Keeping the festival safe helps ensure its future, especially with so many children involved.

There will be a full steward's meeting on 11th September at 6:30pm, at a location still to be confirmed - so if you can volunteer you'll need to be available for that briefing.
